Are Your Friends Making You Sick? - May 30,2013

Beware there are persons who pose as a friend with the intentions of sabotaging your course. With that in mind, I asked the question, “Are your friends making you sick?” If you have an idea and everything about it feels right, but after you share this idea with a friend you are filled with doubt, the person you shared with IS NOT your friend. Understand that well-meaning family members,BFF and spouses are capable of harboring jealousies that emerge as discouraging comments and criticism. I was taught that kindness was a form of politeness and that social behavior is defined by the kindness content. In America today rudeness, selfishness and contrariness predominate. Recently I observed a conversation on a bus, where a person was asking a kindly-looking lady directions. I got off the bus at the same stop that the “kindly” lady who had given directions and she and I walked essentially together to a hosted presentation at a community center. After the refreshments and welcome, I saw the same young man who had been on the bus. It was obvious that he had walked a long distance and was harried. When we interacted, he stated that a lady on the bus advised him to get off at a stop 10 blocks up and he had to really “hustle” to get to the assembly. I could not help myself from seeking out the lady, starting a conversation and eventually asking about the young man. She answered, “He looked like he can really eat, so I sent him somewhere else while we had refreshments”. I was shocked to learn that this lady could be so calmly evil. It has taken a large part of my adulthood to believe that there are those who will misdirect another for no other reason than they can. There are those who will feign friendship to exhaust your resources and maximize their gain. Dont keep friends that make you sick; literally.
